Marita Altman
Solicitor and Partner
Lethbridges Barristers and Solicitors

Marita Altman joined Lethbridges in 2000 after completing her law degree at Monash University and her articles at Slades and Parsons, Melbourne.

Marita also has an Arts (Journalism) degree from the University of South Australia and worked for six years in media in Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. These qualifications and experience in journalism and the media, combined with her legal expertise, means that Marita is an excellent communicator, both before the court and with clients.

Marita’s caseload runs the full spectrum from major drug importation, complex commercial fraud and murder prosecutions to Magistrates’ Court summary criminal matters.

In 2014 Marita became a Law Institute of Victoria accredited specialist in Criminal Law.

 

Alex Wilson

Solicitor and Partner

Lethbridges Barristers and Solicitors

Alex began working at Lethbridges Barristers and Solicitors as a paralegal

while completing her Law degree in mid 2004.  Alex graduated from Monash

University with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Music with outstanding

results in criminal law, federal criminal law and intellectual property.

Alex was admitted to practice after completing her Professional Legal Training

at the College of Law.  She has wide-ranging experience in criminal law including

complex frauds and major drug prosecutions to Magistrates’ Court summary

criminal matters.

In 2016 Alex was awarded the Law Institute of Victoria, Access to Justice Award in recognition of her ongoing pro-bono work for two members of the Bali 9 who were on death row in Indonesia.

 

Una Ebsworth

Senior Associate

Lethbridges Barristers and Solicitors

Una Ebsworth has been with Lethbridges since 2006, when she joined the firm

as a paralegal.   She has since graduated from the University of Melbourne with a

Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts.  She was admitted to practice in

2009.

Una has experience in a wide range of criminal matters spanning Magistrates'

Court summary proceedings through to Supreme Court trial and appeals.  She

has been involved in the preparation of indictable matters including complex

fraud, drug prosecutions, homicide and sexual offences.  Una regularly appears

in the Magistrates', County and Children's Court of Victoria. 

Una is accredited by the Law Institute of Victoria as a criminal law specialist.

 

Taryn Baker

Legal Executive

Lethbridges Barristers and Solicitors

Taryn obtained her Diploma in Law and Practice from the Chartered Institute

of Legal Executives in Wales.  Taryn moved to Australia in 2011 and joined

Lethbridges in 2016.  She brings with her a wealth of experience in criminal

law, property law and the overall management of a legal practice. 

Taryn is the first point of contact for all clients and assists the solicitors.  She has a hands on role in preparing matters for court and in the day to day

running of all files.  Taryn's responsibilities include conferring with clients

to ascertain the nature of their matter, researching and conducting

investigations into the client's defence, preparing and filing court documents

and preparing briefs to Counsel.  Taryn also manages the day to day

operations of the firm.

Taryn is a member of the Victorian Institute of Legal Executives.
